2013 Anticipated Produce

What kinds of produce are you growing this year?

2013 Anticipated Produce

As we prepare to get ready for our 2013 Summer CSA Shares, the most asked question seems to be, "What kind of produce are you growing?"   The produce we grow is mostly heirloom varieties.  This means that if you save the seed from the produce, you could plant the seed next year and have the same type of plant.  This is not possible with hybrids.  We also do not grow any GMO seeds.  We say "anticipated produce" because even though we purchase the seed and attempt to grow it, certain things can go wrong.  Sometimes seed does not germinate and it may get too late in the season to purchase more seed and make another attempt.  There also is the weather.  Mother Nature rules when it comes to growing conditions.  Too hot, too cold, too dry, too wet.... Whatever she throws our way, we must adjust and learn to grow in the conditions she gives us.  However, there are times that plants cannot and will not tolerate nor grow in extreme weather conditions, no matter how hard you try.  So here is our list of 2013 anticipated list of produce!
Be sure to check out our calendar below to see an estimated schedule of when we think produce may be ready.
